Travel by heritage train on the Spa Valley Railway to see children’s favourites from PAW Patrol!

The popular pups from PAW Patrol will be on hand at the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells on 15 and 29 August 2019.

  • Marshall will be appearing on Thursday 15 August 2019
  • Chase will be appearing on Thursday 29 August 2019

The heroic pups will be at Groombridge Station to see their fans arriving on trains from Tunbridge Wells West at the following times:  10:50, 12:20, 13:50, 15:10 and 16:40. 

Trains will depart from Tunbridge Wells West at: 10:20, 12:00, 13:40 & 15:20.

What to see at Tunbridge Wells West:  Model Railway, Miniature Cinema and a working Engine Shed.

What to see on the train:  The glorious High Weald countryside including catching a glimpse of High Rocks as the train pulls into the station.

What to see at Groombidge:  PAW Patrol characters at intervals throughout the day.

What to see at Eridge:  Locomotives at the platform during the 30-minute stop.

Standard train fares apply to this event and there is no additional cost to see the characters from PAW Patrol.

Refreshments will be available from Bar Car ‘Kate’.

Train fares:   Adult – £12.00, Senior – £11.00, Child – £6.00, Family – £30.00 (2 adults + 2 children or 1 adult + 3 children).

Ales on Rails ~ Spa Valley Railway 2& 3 August

Hop on board the Ales on Rails train and enjoy a pint or two from local breweries whilst travelling through the High Weald on the Spa Valley Railway.

Ales on Rails and Fish and Chip Suppers are part of the popular Summer Diesel Gala which takes place on 3,4,5 August which this year features visiting Class 27 27001 and Class 42 ‘Warship’ No. D821 ‘Greyhound’.  Class 27 27001 is travelling all the way from Scotland to take part in the gala and Class 42 ‘Warship’ D821 ‘Greyhound’ is making its first visit away to another heritage railway from the Severn Valley Railway in over 5yrs.

The Ales on Rails event is priced at just £10 per adult (not suitable for children) for travel with the chance to enjoy reasonably priced pints on board bar car ‘Kate’. 

For anyone coming from further afield, why not leave the car at home and travel to Tunbridge Wells by rail before taking the pleasant 15-minute walk down the High Street and through the Pantiles to Tunbridge Wells West.  There are of course plenty of local pubs on the way so it’s the ideal evening out for real ale lovers!  Trains department from Tunbridge Wells West at 18:40 with up to four return trips.  The trains will be hauled by visiting Class 42 Warship No. D821 ‘Greyhound’ and all the way from Scotland Class 27 27001.

What’s included in the £10 ticket price?
• Return journey’s to Eridge from Tunbridge Wells West.
• First pint of ale included in the ticket price!
• Allocated seating in one of the heritage carriages.
• Access to bar car ‘Kate’ with its full range of wines (including sparkling), bottled beers and ciders, spirits, cocktails and hot or cold soft drinks.

Passengers can also book to enjoy another British tradition, Fish and Chips.  Fish and Chip trains will depart at 18:30 on 2 and 3 August.

Passengers join the train at Tunbridge Wells West and during the journey can enjoy a freshly prepared delicious Fish and Chip supper followed by an ice cream dessert. Trains will return to Tunbridge Wells West for approximately 21:15.   Bar car ‘Kate’ will be open throughout the evening selling a large range of real ales, cider, wines (including sparkling) and also hot & cold soft drinks.
