Tonbridge Lions Christmas Collection raised £3,140

Tonbridge Lions Club is pleased to announce that this year’s barrel organ Christmas Collection raised £3,140.
Tonbridge Lions began the tradition in 1952 and have since rolled out their barrel organ each year to raise money for the local area.
This year the proceeds went to providing 80 hampers to deserving individuals and families in the area, it is estimated that 250 people benefitted from this year’s distribution of hampers. A donation was also given to the Bridge Trust for their Christmas Party with any surplus from the Christmas collection being used to help fund our popular annual party in February for senior citizens who live alone.
Commenting on this year’s collection, Lion President James Lark said “We are delighted to have collected £3,140 this year and are very grateful for the generosity of the people of Tonbridge for helping us to help others”

The Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling BC, Cllr. Owen Baldock joined Lion President James Lark at the barrel organ in the high street.
