Guest Artist Initiative

Last year at the Fair Trade Shop here at St Andrews Church we started a Guest Artist Initiative. It was such a success that we have continued the venture. We have seen that many local people are very talented and produce beautiful works of art and craft, but have no outlet to sell them. We invite them to display and sell their work for a month at a time in the shop and if any items are sold we take a very small commission. As our artists tell their friends that their work is in the Fair Trade Shop, we hope that they will come in to see and will also take note of all the other things that the shop has to offer including fairly traded food, crafts and cards. Our aim is for both shop and artists to benefit. All profits from the shop go to charity (both home and abroad) and last year we were able to give away over £7,500.

We are always on the look out for artists, so if you are interested please contact Katharine Garland on katharinegarland@btinternet.com or 01892 724542.
