Planning a birthday? Why not a Curling Party?

This wonderful Olympic sport has found a home near Tunbridge Wells – the first and only curling ice rink in this country

A curling party is ideal for your next birthday party, staff outing, team building event – or just a good time out with your friends.

Christmas party bookings are very popular (it’s advisable to book early).

Everything you need is provided including equipment, shoes and instruction (and the ice rink of course!).

A session lasts for two hours, plenty of time to learn how to play – and to have a fun game as well. Sessions start at 10am, 12 noon, 2pm, 4pm 6pm and 8pm daily.

Curling started in Scotland and originally was played outdoors. Over the years the game has been refined and is now played mainly on indoor ice rinks.

The objective is simple: to slide a granite curling stone weighing 20kg from one end of the ice rink to the other (40m) to a target marked on the ice. As the player releases the stone the handle is twisted to the left or right thus making the stone spin slowly as it travels down the ice. This makes it Curl down the ice – giving the name of the game – “Curling”.
