Mini Tonbridge Arts Festival back in town

Tonbridge Arts Festival will be back at the Castle again this summer!  This year’s mini event will take place over the weekend 5-7 July and will focus on literary, performing and visual arts events – providing a tantalising mixture of crowd-pleasers and culture.

The weekend will kick-off with the outstanding ‘Killer Queen’ tribute band on the Friday evening. On Saturday local schools will perform drama pieces in the afternoon around the theme of the ‘Castle’. There will also be live music in the town at various venues, with talks by authors at the library. On Saturday evening there will be a ‘Proms’ concert for classical music buffs and on Sunday local bands will have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the Castle, followed by Sing-a-Long Grease at the EM Forster Theatre at Tonbridge School. Full audience participation, including fancy dress, is highly recommended!

If you’ve ever dreamed of holding a World Record, now’s your chance! On Sunday at midday there will be an attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the number of people doing the Hand Jive in one place. There will need to be about 400 participants (so bring your friends and family) but fear not – training will be provided in the build-up to the weekend. This will also give you the chance to perfect your skills before the Grease sing-a-long.

Full details of all events can be found online, visit: www.tonbridgeartsfestival.co.uk Tickets are on sale now! Go online or buy in person from Tonbridge Gateway at the Castle.
