ENJOY MEDIEVAL GAMING AT PENSHURST PLACE THIS SUMMER!

History can be fun!  Keep the kids amused during the School Holidays and educate through play at Penshurst Place & Gardens this summer.

Sundays from 28 July – Bank Holiday Monday August 26th 2013, 12noon – 4pm

Following a medieval theme is game Sundays.  Join Knights’ school and find out how to be a knight or princess with storytellers in the maze (weather permitting) – from 2pm Sundays.  Children can enjoy free craft activities to help transform them into a knight or noblewoman and create their own masks and shield. Or create a friendship bracelet or boys arm cuff using traditional medieval weaving.

August Bank Holiday Fun – Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August

The Hand’s on History team will be back with their fun medieval activities this August Bank Holiday from 12noon – 4pm.

Families are invited to try their hand at three medieval activities including mini crossbows, tug of war and leatherworking.

Mini crossbows – Aimed at younger children these easy to use, small, wooden crossbows are surprisingly popular with all ages.  Shooting safety darts tipped with rubber suction cups young warriors can aim at the castle target with its guarding soldiers or the targets of knights on horseback.

Tug of war – Test your strength on the Hands on History Tug of War Machine, either individually or as a family team.

THE MAIZE MAZE

With an extra mini maze for smaller children, the Maize Maze is now open.

All above Events (except Leatherworking) are FREE – normal Garden ticket admission prices apply (see Notes to editors for garden ticket prices).
