THERE’S NO TIME TO LOOS!

Loofest is a musical fundraiser on Saturday 13 February 2016 at The Forum to contribute desperately needed funds to renovate the toilet facilities and provide additional access for disabled music fans.

This great local music venue needs your help
The famous Forum venue in Tunbridge Wells desperately needs to flush away their old toilets and complete the upgrading of this iconic local independent music space. The professional team who brought you the amazing Poofest series are the energy behind the movement to ensure successful touring bands once again include The Forum on their schedules.

Local music fans had the opportunity to see the likes of Coldplay, Oasis, Muse, Green Day, Adele, Mumford & Sons, and The Vaccines when they starting out on the road to stardom. With recent acts such as Tom Chaplin, Frank Turner, Lower Than Atlantis… and a scheduled appearance from Eliza and The Bear in January, the Forum has gone to huge efforts to make this venue a more frequent visit for both better known and local acts.

The Forum is a Community Interest Company which exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders. With one fun night of fundraising, we can really make a difference to this relief effort!

Local band Roxxon to headline with special guest Mark Morriss of indie-rockers the Bluetones

Roxxon are the ideal band for this type of occasion! The Poofest favourites provide a stunning variety of contemporary pop hits that will guarantee to get everyone up and dancing. You’ll hear modern hits by artists such as Jessie J, Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars to Imagine Dragons, Jason Mraz and Daft Punk…. and golden oldies from The Rolling Stones, The Jackson 5 and Journey to Chuck Berry, Free and Rose Royce.

Mark Morriss, another locally based musician and currently on tour in the UK, will join Roxxon on stage for a surprise cover. “The Forum in Tunbridge Wells is a wonderful venue which is very close to my heart, and when I heard about this gig I immediately volunteered my services. A lot of small venues operate on very limited budgets and it can be difficult to find the resources to improve facilities, so an event like this is an excellent way to address that shortfall. From a personal angle, it’s also a chance to fool around with a new bunch of musicians and play through the Turbosound Floodlight sound system being imported for the night. So a win, win.”

Roxxon will also be supported on this occasion by Milly McCarron and Silent Crowd, both winners of the 2015 Poofest Spotlight Awards. The acts triumphed in last summer’s hotly contested competition run in conjunction with The Kent & Sussex Courier and the Sevenoaks Chronicle. And if you’ve still got any energy left, the evening will run right up to midnight with an excellent DJ.

Loofest will be a great way to spend the evening and a penny or two to make sure we’ve got one of the best local music venues.
